Mama Update: (Day 2) Kiss My Grits

Quick Tuesday (12/13) morning update on my mama, Bonnie Spencer Kitchens:

Like a classy genteel southern lady, mama just devoured a bowl of grits. She fed herself. A little messy due to the non-functioning right side of her face AND the fact that she’s limited to using only her left hand. But she knew what she was doing. I mean, she fed herself, y’all; this is promising.

She’s probably gonna paddle me one day when she sees I told the world that she was a little messy with her grits. But I just wanted you to know she has seen some improvement today.

Still non-verbal and unable to comprehend a lot of stuff. But she’s brilliant and feisty, so we are hopeful things click soon as she continues to fight.
